Here's What's Up:

Dear Broken-Hearted..

Dear broken-hearted,

You feel crushed. I know. It’s like your whole world got turned inside out and all you feel is pain. That ache in your stomach won’t go away, and you don’t know how you’ll get through this. But you will.

Someday, the sky will be blue again. Someday, you won’t think of them every time you close your eyes. Someday, all you’ll remember are the good things and the lessons you learned from the pain. The pain may sting for a long time, but it won’t always feel this bad. I promise you.

There will come a day when someone will feel the same way you do. You won’t wonder if you’ve got it wrong, or if you’re going to lose this one. Even through the imperfections, you’ll see a heart that radiates love for God. It’s going to be a hard journey, but it’s going to be worth it.

Don’t ever let this pain stop you. Don’t be afraid of love. Keep your chin up and put one foot in front of the other. The sun will shine, and you’ll laugh until your belly hurts again. Just give it time.

Don’t rush yourself in finding someone, or push yourself until you break. Find something that makes you happy and do more of it. Spend more time focusing on the good stuff, and spend even more time than that with God.

Someday, the tears will go away and everything will be better than it ever was. Guard your heart, but don’t make it impossible for someone to love you. There are better things ahead than any you’ve left behind. I promise.
